The Divisional Union of Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has donated ten (10) ultra-modern hospital beds to the Airport Clinic, a gesture expected to improve healthcare delivery to staff, passengers, and the broader aviation community.
In her speech, the Managing Director, Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), indicated that some of the beds in the facility had become immobile and could not be adjusted to provide proper nursing care, prompting the Union to initiate the upgrade.
The Divisional Union Chairman, Frank Selorm Adoboe, said his leadership felt compelled to intervene after observing the urgent need for improved patient comfort and care at the facility, which serves both staff and airport users.
“When we took office, we looked around and saw a deficiency in the clinic’s beds. Since we also use the facility, we found it prudent to help address the need,” he said.
On his part, the Director of Health Services at Airport Clinic Limited (ACL), Dr. Killian Boampong, expressed appreciation for the donation, noting that the new equipment will significantly enhance the quality of care provided at the clinic.
The donation aligns with the Union’s commitment to strengthen health services and building partnerships that promote staff welfare and public health.
Eight (8) of the beds were purchased through contributions from the Divisional Union and two additional units donated by the Managing Director of GACL, Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare replace ageing equipment.
