Passengers travelling through Kotoka International Airport will no longer have to join the queues at the immigration following the inauguration of 7 e – gates at the arrival hall. Registered passengers using biometric passport will now enjoy the luxury of swiping their way through the e – gates with ease and out of the terminal.
E-Gates basically allow travelers to use their passports to automatically enter and exit the country. The system uses facial recognition technology to verify the user’s identity against the data stored in the chip in their biometric passport. This new system would be replacing the PISCES System, which only does identification.
