Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has organized its 2026 Strategy session with a cross-section of Management staff, Divisional Union and Senior Staff Association representatives. The objective of the three-day session was to assess GACL’s performance and to outline key strategies and initiatives to enhance performance, corporate governance, efficiency and service delivery.
This year’s theme – Driving sustainable growth through innovation, governance and operational excellence, touched on the key values and ideals as an organization.
In her opening remarks, the Managing Director of GACL, Mrs. Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare indicated that in the coming year, revenue generation and cost management would be one of the main goals for the organization. She stated that GACL will be embarking on a few projects which directly plugs into Government’s flagship policy – the 24-hour economy from inception to completion.
The highlight of the session was the group brainstorming sessions where each group developed strategies for adoption in key thematic areas such as:
– Financial sustainability with a greater emphasis on non-aeronautical revenue
– 24 hour economy with a focus on job creation, industrial transformation and infrastructure developments at all GACL operated airports.
– Digital transformation with a focus on leveraging technology to enhance internal and efficiencies, effective operations, and service deliveries using ICT to digitally enhance and transform operations.
– Enhancing Customer Experience through Stakeholder engagement.
The session ended with a charge to staff to bring their innovative ideas on revenue generation, operational efficiency and cost management to the fore.
