The newly inaugurated Board of Directors of Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) have been introduced to staff at a brief ceremony at Kotoka International Airport. The Board had earlier interacted with Heads of Department and Union Executives.
In her remarks the Managing Director, Mrs Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare welcomed the Board of Directors. She indicated that the company had chalked several successes including the repurposing of Terminal 2 for dual use for international and domestic operations currently ongoing and earmarked to be completed soon and the resurfacing of the 30-year old runway, which has commenced in earnest among others.
She indicated that the accomplishments were as a result of the collective effort and cohesion from the management team and staff. She assured the board of working collaboratively to accomplish the vision of His Excellency the President.
The Board Chairman, Honourable James Agalga, MP, Builsa North Constituency, in his remarks thanked Management and staff for the warm reception. He indicated that the Board would work closely with Management to realise the President’s vision of positioning Ghana as the Aviation hub in the West African sub-region.
He commended management and staff for their dedication and hard work over the period, especially in the aftermath of COVID-19, which contributed to the company’s remarkable achievement in making profits. He called for cooperation, unity of purpose to deliver on the collective mandate.
Other members of the Board include Honourable Attah Issah – MP for Sagnarigu constituency, Honourable William Ntebe Ayo, MP , Tatale-Sanguli constituency, Mr Mark William Attipoe – Representative, Ministry of Transport, Mr Kwabena Amponsah Dapaah – Fellow, Ghana Institution of Surveyors, Ms. Diana Amakie Ashong – Business Executive, Mrs Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare, Managing Director of GACL, Air Commodore Elvis King Arneson – Base Commander, Airforce Base, Accra, Representative from Ghana Airforce and Mr Joseph Enimil-Armah.
