PassionAir has operated a maiden flight to the Bono Regional capital of Sunyani. The maiden flight marks the commencement of commercial operations by the airline to Sunyani Airport. This follows the inauguration of the airport by the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on August 3, 2022.
In her welcome address, the Bono Regional Minister, Hon Justina Owusu Banahene expressed delight at the resumption of flight services into the region, adding that the operationalization of the airport would promote economic activities within the region.
The Managing Director of PassionAir, Mr Samuel Ato Hagan, in his speech, expressed delight that the PassionAir was the first airline to operate into the region. He assured passengers of excellent customer service and strict adherence to safety practices in their operations. He also urged Tourism and Hospitality Companies in the region to capitalize on the route to promote the region and their businesses.
The Minister of Transport, Hon. Mr Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, on his part commended PassionAir for taking advantage of the infrastructure provided by Ghana Airports Company Limited to expand services to the region. He also appealed to residents to patronise the services of the airline while charging PassionAir to build strong and enduring relationships as a way of attracting more passengers.
Okokyeredom Sakyi Ako II, the Paramount Chief of Drobo Traditional Area appealed to government to embark on more developmental projects within the region to complement the new status of the airport.
