Kotoka International Airport (KIA) has been adjudged ‘Best Airport by Size and Region’ (2 – 5million passengers per year) and Most Improved in Africa by the Airports Council International (ACI). The award is in recognition of GACL’s effort in providing superior customer experience at KIA.
A release issued by ACI stated that the awards are in recognition of airports around the world that deliver the best customer experience in the opinion of their own passengers.
Kotoka International Airport emerged as one of the first-time recipients of the award. Other recipients in the category include Stockholm-Bromma Airport (Stockholm, Sweden), Copenhagen Airport (Copenhagen, Denmark) and Aeropuerto de Melilla (Melilla, Spain) among others.
Announcing the winners, the ACI World Director General, Angela Gittens said ‘This year’s awards have been won by a diverse group of winning airports from around the world which illustrates the industry-wide commitment to delivering exceptional customer experience.
‘Delivering a better customer experience is an important business strategy in an increasingly competitive airport industry. ACI’s global ASQ programme is the only one that not only recognizes excellence but also provides airports with objective measurement and benchmarking to help drive their performance.
